Purpose and Product: the Beginning of a CSA Part III

Last weekend, a few of our CSA members headed out to Linden, Alberta for another visit to Oxyoke Farms. We’d been out a month or two before that and had a great time.

I took a few videos from this last trip, but Windows Vista didn’t seem to like them, so I’ve been struggling for the last week to get them to function properly. Here’s a short interview with Robby Fyn, one portion of the Fyn family that cares for Oxyoke Farms on sustainability in agriculture and why they started a CSA in the first place.

I can’t explain how amazing it is to know the people who grow your food, to visit the farm and get your hands in the dirt. It’s so much deeper than the grocery store and even deeper than the face-to-face at the farmer’s market. It’s nothing less than a communal friendship now and I couldn’t be happier that we decided to do it this way.
