Urban Foraging in Chicago

Would you eat food you find in the city? Did you know you could?

Chef and food blogger Art Jackson leads a tour through Chicago’s urban fields in this video from Sky Full of Bacon.

What might this mean for building resilient communities? Art says:

What if instead of planting a lot of these ornamental trees, we planted fruit trees. All over the city. We’d have free food everywhere. Not just “free food”, but really good tasting food. These apples are more delicious than any you could buy in the store. The ones in the store have been refrigerated. That changes their makeup, their flavor…

What do you think, would you eat foraged food in the city?

(Thanks @TylerSoron for the tip)
